How it works
1. Upload your photos. Please ensure your images are no more than 2MB and they comply with the following rules:
i) photos must be clear and only feature the entrant - no friends, pets, family, etc. Also, try to get someone else to take them - taking them by holding your own phone is not acceptable.
ii) all photos must be taken with a blank background - so stand in front of a plain wall, plain curtain or drape a sheet. It doesn't need to be perfect but we really need them to be clear.
iii) photos need to be jpeg files and no bigger than 2MB. Any images larger than this may not upload and your entry may not be accepted.
iv) you will have the opportunity once again to upload 4 different photos so we would suggest one head and shoulders, one waist up, one full body and then maybe a fun one - and remember, look your best.
v) if we receive photos that don't fit these rules we will email you and ask for replacements - we will only do this once.
2. Complete the entry form. You will be asked a couple of questions like why you should be the Next Real Model, what you like to do in your spare time, etc. Please keep your answers to the 25 word limit we suggest you write them down and prepare them before entering so your responses don't get cut off. Also, please check your spelling.
The form will also ask for some personal information - date of birth, address, phone number, etc. This will all remain private and will not appear on the website - all the public will see is your first name, the initial of your surname and your state (Stacey N, QLD) ...plus your answers to the above questions. If you have some concerns, please read the privacy statement that will be on the website.
3. You will be asked if you wish to upload your facebook, myspace pages and youtube video. This worked really well for those who did it last year so give it a go. Ensure your pages are specific to the competition - not your general facebook or myspace pages...the judges and voters are only interested in you - not your friends!!!
4. If you are under 18 years of age as at the entry opening date you will need to get your parents or guardians permission. Please confirm permission by ticking the relevant box.
5. You will also need to confirm that you agree to the terms and conditions of entry by ticking the relevant box. If you do not agree your entry won't be accepted.
6. Then you need to confirm that you have given permission to Next Real Model and associated companies to contact you with news, special offers and competitions. Again, tick the relevant box. This is not a condition of entry.
7. Once you are happy with your entry, please hit the submit button. You will then receive a confirmation email and your unique code. Each entrant's "Unique Number" will be what people will use to vote for you so make sure you write it down and let everyone know your number.
8. Voting will then commence (date TBC). Be sure you have done all you can to promote yourself and secure votes. All voting will be conducted via a dedicated SMS number. All voters will need to do is txt the entrant's name, state and unique code to that number (it will be on the website before voting starts). There may be additional voting methods introduced.
9. Voting then concludes on the announced date. The first 10 entrants with the most number of votes will be deemed finalists.
10. Independent judges will then review all remaining entrants and award two "Real Cards". These two entrants will then also be deemed as finalists - a total of 12.
11. Throughout the competition there will prizes awarded for general fun things. Prizes will be awarded to entrants when they achieve a certain vote level - 50 votes, 100 votes, 150 votes and 200 votes.
12. A further panel of independent judges will then review the 12 finalists and declare a winner and runner-up. links
